Matt’s Hawaiian vacation was the perfect opportunity to put the finishing touches on Chapter Nine. There’s nothing like crafting the story of an elderly shut-in while sitting poolside. As we get deeper into the book, the characters are starting to really take shape. This is both helpful as a writer – not having to search for a voice for each person – and also a challenge to stay true to each person’s characteristics. Chapter Nine was a result of lots of iterations and effort, but the results are worthy. Or so says me.
