Forty Story is a collaborative writing project uniting two friends that reside 1,588 miles apart.

In other words, Chris and Matt are writing a book.

Forty Story is the name of the project; the name of the book has yet to be determined.

The Forty Story writing process is structured in a unique way with Chris and Matt agreeing to a general premise for the story and a set length for it to unfold (20 chapters). Authorship of the book will alternate by chapter with Matt writing Chapter 1, Chris writing Chapter 2, and so on. After the completion of four chapters ( 2 by each author), the process will be re-evaluated. Pete is slated to serve as an editor at some point.

The authors have agreed not to discuss the plot (or character attributes influencing the plot) during the writing process, allowing the story to be subtlety shaped by each author’s vision.
